Hello
I see you're all dazzled and gobsmacked by the fame of
Seamus. But why has no one mentioned J.K. Rowlands?
Doesn't that make the whole prize quite bizarre?
(And,no, I haven't read Beowulf by SH - I did read the
first page in a bookshop a while back and thought it
looked a bit dull; flat, as someone said. Though
perhaps there might be a virtue in that. So I
haven't, as yet, bought it. I'm quite fond of the
poem, myself. But I have read all of Harry Potter,
and gosh, I wish I'd thought of that. It is certainly
not dull.)
I have made it to Cambridge in one piece and am more
or less adjusting to the culture shock. It is, I can
assure you, quite different from Melbourne, and a lot
colder.
Best
Alison
