I posted two messages: one poem and one amusing splattering and they both
seem to have disappeared. conspiracy? piracy? is this normal on this board?
anyhow i will venture to post a brief idea i have been flirting with these
past few weeks and hope to see it attract a few of you out here.
I have been contemplating the state of modern poetry, which is not a whole
lot of fun in any sense. and a daring and at the same time somewhat niave
possibility occured to me. After visiting flashpoint, i thought that there
might be significant "muscle" to realize this idea. it seems very probable
that poetry should and could replace philosophy. (i may get a lashing for
all of this but i am young so i can take it in stride) what i mean by this
is that philosophy seems so presumptious and for that reason much too
ineffectual. the poet on the other hand has a great advantage in this
endeavor. the indeterminate!
i'm cutting it short, hoping to stimulate discussion, if any of this is
interesting to any of you i would love to talk about this. though i may be
niave, it sure is good fun!
