Augmented Reality
One Day BMVA symposium in association with the UKVRSIG and IEE/E4 at
British Institute of Radiology, London, UK on 3rd May 2000
Augmented reality is the process of augmenting the users view of a world
with synthetic models or information. This could be anything from the
written annotation of a scene to superimposed 3D graphical models. The
applications of Augmented Reality are in wearable computing, HCI,
medical, construction and visual media to name a few. The aim of this
meeting is to bring together a number of talks on the common problems
and solutions associated with these application areas.
Specific issues are:
* Tracking, particularly optical or hybrid solutions
* HMD/world calibration
* Lighting -- recovery and modelling
* Model building, images from images
Prospective contributors should submit one page summary (c. 300 words
plus pictures) describing their recent or current work in this area to
