I think this is more frequently spelled "An maidrín rua." In various
translations it is sung by Mary O'Hara and by Peg Clancy Power on an LP, (now
re-issued on cd by Rykodisc) Tradition TLP 1034. The latter gives English
words for two choruses - they are given in "phonetically" spelled Irish.
(That is the phonemes used will approximate the Irish sounds, if voiced
according to standard English sound conventions.)
There is a macaronic version "An maidirín rua" in Brian and Eithne Vallely:
Sing a song and play it No 3 (Armagh Piper's Club, no date)
I think that the English versification of which Chris Coe was writing is that
of Francis A Fahy - "Little Red Fox is a raider sly, In the misty moonlight
creeping" - that I do have in the first series of Father Padraig Breathnach's
"Songs of the Gael" but unless this is specifically requested I'll avoid
publishing it - it's not attractive to me.
