SOLO ART LIBRARIANS
Lyndsay Rees-Jones of the Library Association gave a very interesting talk
on being a solo librarian at the ARLIS UK&Ireland conference last week.
Denise Raine then led two workshops on the same topic. Both events were
very enthusiastically received by solo and non-solo librarians. The
definition of solo can cover those who work alone, or in professional or
subject isolation.
It was clear from the conference that those working as solos are in
particular need of the kind of professional support provided by ARLIS. It
seems a good idea to make a list of solo art librarians which can be
circulated amongst us. The list can also be passed to Lyndsay and she
could put us all on her mailing list for solos and workplace librarians.
