The SRG's membership is currently in the region of 550, which is around a third of the Society. Its membership consists of archivists from a variety of sectors. The largest body represented are university archivists, the audience which the SRG was originally set up to serve, and for which is still has an emphasis. I collect and post (on a regular basis)news stories that contain an archival
or records management theme/content to recmgmt-l and the archives & archivist
listservs. So as not to bombard this list, too, you can access these postings
from the following websites.
http://listserv.muohio.edu/archives/archives.html
http://lists.ufl.edu/archives/recmgmt-l.html
Both archives are searchable. The postings currently carry the subject line
RAIN <date>. RAIN is an acronym for "Records/Archives in the News".
If you spot a news story that you think may be of interest to your colleagues
around the world feel free to send me the url/link for the story. I will
include it with my postings.
