Dear Scott
I am not aware of much that is available on the web, but I can send you copies of various offprints of papers written by Paul Craddock and Alessandra Giumlia-Mair who have been researching this area for a number of years. For example, they have a chapter in 'Metal plating and patination' edited by Sue La Niece and Paul Craddock (Butterworth Heinemann, 1993, ISBN 0 7506 1611 3), which you might be able to get hold of.

Hi,
I am trying to get some information on the history of the development of
'black bronze' which I believe is bronze made with Copper, Tin and Silver. I
believe that it was first made in China and imported to Europe but then lost
to Europe on the decline of the Greek / Roman empires and only
're-discovered' from Japan many centuries later.
Can anyone help me with this? If you can point to web based resources so
much the better but any info would be appreciated.
I am not a metallurgist so please excuse my ignorance!
Thanks,
Scott.
