++ SAS Programmers ++

The Medical Data Structures and Programming team of Novartis Pharma 
AG, located in Basel, Switzerland, is looking for SAS Programmers with 
at least three years of experience in analysis programming in the 
pharmaceutical industry.  Experience with clinical data management 
systems would be beneficial.

You will contribute to the global drug development process by writing
programs for the validation and analysis of clinical data for study 
reports and submission dossiers. As a full member of international 
clinical teams, you will negotiate timelines and deliverables directly 
with your customers.

Candidates will work in a global environment and share experiences and
programs with colleagues in Europe and the US.

The ideal candidate will have a university degree in computer science, 
life sciences or the equivalent. Individuals without the formal 
education, but related experience, will be considered. Fluency in both 
spoken and written English, a sound knowledge of the clinical 
development process, strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, and 
committment to teamwork are essential. Project management skills would

++ SAS System Specialists ++

The Medical Data Structures and Programming team of Novartis Pharma

++ Biostatisticians ++

The Biostatistics Department of Novartis Pharma AG, located in Basel,
Switzerland, is looking for Biostatisticians with experience in the 
application of statistics in Clinical Trials.

The successful candidates will use their statistical expertise to
contribute to the design of clinical trial protocols and the analysis 
of clinical trial data.  They will also be responsible for the 
statistical aspects of clinical plans.  In addition, they will be 
expected to contribute to the development and implementation of novel 
statistical approaches to maximize efficiency and enhance quality of 
clinical trials.

We have openings, which support Clinical Development in Phase I,
including PK/PD; in Phase II, III & IV; and in statistical 
methodology. All positions are global in concept.

In the position supporting Phases II, III & IV clinical studies, the
successful candidate will be a member of international clinical teams, 
and dependent on experience, responsible for coordinating the 
statistical tasks of clinical projects.

The successful candidate for the PK/PD statistics group, who will also 
be supporting international clinical development teams, must have a 
proven record in not only statistical PK/PD modeling and data 
analysis, but should also have experience in NONMEM and S-PLUS.

For the position in the statistical methodology group, the successful
candidate must have experience in statistical research and its 
application in medical statistics, as well as have in depth knowledge 
in a specific area, e.g. design of experiments, mathematical modeling 
and simulation, decision analysis, statistical computing, or 
non-parametric statistics.

All positions require an advanced degree in statistics; knowledge and
experience in the use of statistical programming packages, including 
SAS; a good command of the English language; strong negotiation and 
interpersonal skills; commitment to teamwork.  We prefer a PhD in 
either statistics or mathematics, but will consider the candidate with 
the appropriate experience, who has a master's degree.
