Well, apart from the books you mention there are a couple of sites with
fairly good articles, and some ones with code snippets. I frequently
consult http://www.phpbuilder.com/ and have worked through the tutorials
linked from
the documentation page of http://uk.php.net/. In addition, get
phpMyAdmin ASAP.
It makes the MySQL work much easier.
Now if only there was such good documentation for Midgard :-(.
