MABS-2000
The 2000 Multi Agent Based Simulation Workshop
federated with ICMAS-2000
Boston, 9 July 2000
The MABS-2000 workshop is federated with the 4th International
Conference on Multi Agent Systems (ICMAS) in Boston on 9 July. Given
the usual standard of papers, proceedings are to be published in the
Springer Verlag Lecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence series and
there have been several requests by editors to publish special
collections of extended MABS papers.
I have also had a number of requests for extensions to the submission
deadline. Remembering that I have asked for these from time to time, I
am sympathetic to such requests while recognising the need to keep some
control over the editorial/reviewing process. Consequently, I am
prepared to consider extensions of up to two weeks provided that I
receive by the submission deadline a short abstract (up to 500
words)with a prospective actual submission date. This brings MABS in
line with nearly all of the other ICMAS workshops.
The full call for papers is at:
http://www.cpm.mmu.ac.uk/mabs2000/cfp.html
The submission timetable:
February 15, 2000: Submission of full papers (or abstracts
with request for extension).
March 28, 2000: Notification of acceptances
May 1, 2000: Deadline for submission of final versions of
accepted papers
There is a limit of 35 participants in MABS2000 and we expect to accept
10-12 papers. In consequence, the workshop will be small, informal and
concentrated on discussion with relatively short presentations of
previously circulated papers. The focus, the size and the expected
quality of papers and discussion offer the opportunity for MABS2000 to
be a watershed event in the development of agent based social
simulation.
Details of topics, paper lengths can be found in the on-line call (see
above).
