Dear Karen,
Can you let people know onthe newletter about this perhaps the last
performance of Sweet as you are - big thankyou
Sweet as you are opens the Islington International Festival Friday June 23rd
at the Pleasance theatre 7.30
In recent years Y Touring in partnership with the Wellcome Trust and others
have been pioneering a bold combination of science and theatre with a whole
series of productions aimed at exploring some of the dilemmas behind
contemporary scientific debate. 'Sweet as you are' is a funny thought
provoking story exploring issues raised by the GM controversy. Scientists
might offer hard facts, but as Y Touring demonstrate, its not always easy to
se p erate the detail from the impassioned arguement, or from your own
bias. As in art, so in life: Sweet as You Are sees the political getting
very personal indeed. The play will be followed by a debate between
characters, audience mebers, and for this special FEAST performance we are
delighted to welcome SIMON PARKS - presenter of BBC Radio 4 Food programme.
