BRUNEL UNIVERSITY, INFORMATION LIBRARIAN
This is a re-advertisement. Previous applicants should not be deterred
from re-applying.
We are seeking a recently qualified librarian to join our Information
and Instruction Services Team, which promotes and facilitates the use of
existing and new information services amongst the University community.
Information Librarians focus on helping users to exploit printed and
electronic information resources. This involves writing web-based and
printed support documents as well as providing assistance in person to
groups and to individuals at enquiry points. The person appointed will
therefore be confident in interacting with users both directly and
remotely, and be knowledgeable about the use of information resources
within a learning and research environment. Information Librarians also
join a subject team. They would be the senior-in-charge of the Library
during evening and weekend duties.
The post is based initially on the Uxbridge Campus, but the service delivery
also includes three campus libraries at Osterley, Runnymede and Twickenham
and therefore some travel is required.
The post is on academic-related Grade 1: Salary £17,748 - £19,647 p.a.
including London weighting. Candidates should be graduates with a
qualification in library or information sciences.
For an application form and further details, please send a self-addressed

[log in to unmask] quoting post reference number 5951.
The closing date for applications is 14th February 2000. Interviews will
be held on the 3rd March 2000.
