Dear Colleagues,
I am leaving De Montfort University and taking up a position at the University
of Missouri-Kansas City beginning in August. I am sorry to leave the U.K. (but
not sorry about leaving De Montfort), but the department at UMKC is trying to
build a Post Keynesian-Institutionalist-Heterodox graduate programme. Aside
from myself, my colleagues will include Jan Krgel, Randy Wray, Jim Sturgeon,
Mathew Forstater, Stephanie Bell, and Bob Brazelton. It looks like an exciting
place to be. My new address effective July 15, 2000 is
Department of Economics
211 Haag Hall
5100 Rockhill Road
University of Missouri-Kansas City
Kansas City, Missouri 64110
USA
I have not been given an e-mail address yet but it will either be

One consequence of my going is that I will not be able to continue to organize
the Post Keynesian Economics Study Group Seminars. The seminars are set up for
this year in that there is an organizer for each one of them. However, Paul
Downward has agreed to oversee the entire series. So if you have any queries,
please contact either seminar organizer or Paul--their e-mail addresses are
given below. My final plug for the PKESG Seminars--papers are still needed
for all the seminars; please offer a paper on any topic. Contact the seminar
organizer or Paul.
A second consequence is that I will not be organizing fringe conferences.
Andrew Trigg has agreed to continue the Association for Heterodox Economics
and to produce a conference each year. But he needs lots of help. You can
e-mail him at [log in to unmask] and offer him your support. This issue can
also be discussed at the forthcoming The Other Economics Conference--which I
hope all of you are going to attend. If the attendance is good then the AHE
will have some income which can be used for producing the conference the
following year or for any other use that is deemed desirable. In any case,
please get involved--and contact Andrew or talk to us at the Conference.
If you have a queries please contact me--I shall still have this e-mail
address until the end of July.
Sincerely,
Fred Lee
