The point of my statement was simply to provoke some kind of discussion,
preferably of an intelligent nature, of either the particular poem, the just
out and unspoken about 'Selected Poems', or Ms Riley's oeuvre in general.
(And thereby, but incidentally, move discussion away from the man not in the
velvet jacket.)
As, my dear David, your response provides not one of the desiderata, it has,
in this instance, failed.
