- I should've been clearer: that's Edward F, not F Scott F. Edward F is
buried at Boulge in Suffolk; I don't know where FSF is.
The rose struck me as a personal Prynne gesture, one which he'd find
meaningful, and which isn't too hard to figure. At a very basic level Dorn
shared Pound's ability to argue his way royally up many people's noses,
often (understatement) producing stunning poetry while doing so. My memory
of the Pound-rose is that whatever its blossom was like, it was a right
prickly thing. Of Prynne's "oration" as reported it was the bit about not
taking any shit that rang true.
Me, I'll go for some of the flora from Aneurin's (unknown) slot: tormentil
and sphagnum moss, I'd guess...
