Dear all
We are currently planning for the new mature student bursary
scheme.
Can other institutions, specifically those who are going to be
involved in the administration of the scheme i.e. finding prospective
students, inviting applications, processing applications and issuing
funds to students, give some feedback on how they intend to do
this?
It will possibly be are intention to target local feeder colleges,
specifically access courses to locate prospective students. We
may also invite existing students to apply were we feel this to be
appropriate. Clearly it is in everyones interest to start the
application process as early as possible.
Does anyone have an example of an application form to apply for
help from the fund? I know that we do not have to request detailed
income and expenditure forms, because the fund is not available for
for help towards general living costs.
Perhaps we can pool resources and try to develop amongst the
HEI community a best practice approach? I am sure there is
enough expertise out there to accomplish this. The guidance from
the DFEE is often vague. Possibly it is meant to be so to allow a
certain amount of flexibility in the administration of the fund!
Any comments relating to the general administration of the fund
would be most welcome.
I look forward to hearing from you all.
