Dear transport researchers,
We are advertising a post-doc research post at the University of Sheffield, for two years, starting from 1st October 2022 or as soon as possible afterwards.
Job advert: https://www.jobs.ac.uk/job/CSH547/research-associate
Closing date: 23rd August 2022
The post will primarily work on a research project examining the relationship between lighting and cycling. The aim of the project is to understand how lighting affects the cycling rates and cyclist safety after dark, with the results used to inform future lighting design policy and cycling infrastructure guidelines. The role is based in the Lighting Research Group at the University of Sheffield. No existing knowledge of lighting research is required, but familiarity with numerical data and working with large databases would be useful.
The role would suit a recently or near-finished PhD student or other early career researcher, interested in research related to cycling.
Please pass this on to anyone you know who might be interested in the role, or consider applying yourself if it sounds of interest to you!
Thanks,
Dr Jim Uttley
Lecturer in Architectural Science
School of Architecture
