medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
One of the ideal, saintly things about the marriage of Elzear and Delphine was apparently the fact that they never consummated it physically. Dyan Elliott gives a very interesting discussion of their relationship in her book *Spiritual Marriage: Sexual Abstinence in Medieval Wedlock* (Princeton U Press, 1993).
