Thanks for tracking this down. Phew indeed! Some of the "other title information" I was referring to can fill up most of the title page!

Ah, wait, 2.3.4.3 says to record other title info following instructions in 2.3.1. If you go there you'll see that in 2.3.1.4 there *is* an optional omissions for abridging so I would say this also applies to other title info.
