************************************** * FORCED-MIGRATION * ************************************** PLEASE SAVE THIS MESSAGE FOR FUTURE REFERENCE, IT CONTAINS VITAL INFORMATION Welcome to the FORCED-MIGRATION discussion list This mailing list aims to encourage greater exchange of information and to promote discussion on issues surrounding refugees and the internally displaced, including those uprooted by development projects. The Forced-Migration List is moderated by the Refugee Studies Centre (RSC) which is part of the University of Oxford's International Development Centre at Queen Elizabeth House. Its objectives are to carry out multidisciplinary research and teaching on the causes and consequences of forced migration; to disseminate the results of that research to policy makers and practitioners, as well as within the academic community; and to understand the experience of forced migration from the point of view of the affected populations. The RSC was founded in 1982 by Dr Barbara Harrell-Bond. The present director is Dr Roger Zetter. The list can only be of value to members who use it to share information and we would like to strongly encourage you to do so. Possible uses might include: - Notification of forthcoming events - Publicise your research results - Notification of research opportunities (job vacancies) - Seeking research opportunities - Identifying research collaborators As a first step, you might consider sending a message to forced-migration@jiscmail.ac.uk, describing yourself and your research interests to the group. We hope you find the list valuable! ======================================================= Important Email Addresses ======================================================= 1. jiscmail@jiscmail.ac.uk This is the JISCmail program.
