Postgraduate Statistics Opportunities

There are two main ways of obtaining a postgraduate qualification in statistics, a higher degree by coursework (usually diploma or MSc) or a higher degree by research (usually MRes, MPhil or PhD). Most departments offer degrees by research, but only some of them offer degrees by coursework. For full time students, postgraduate courses are usually one year's duration, whereas study by research usually takes a minimum of two years at the masters level and three years at the doctoral level.
