Discussion list for repository technologies and policies.

JISC-REPOSITORY-ACCESS  
This list is intended for discussion of access management in document repository installations, with special emphasis on the UK higher education sector. While many repositories have open access policies, few permit open submission of documents and fewer still permit open management of the repository itself. It is common for repositories to have a mixture of open and restricted content such as embargoed items, or works in progress deposited for reference by particular groups. Wherever there is any policy other than completely open access, deposit and management, access management is required. Topics for discussion on the list include both policy and technical issues relating to the application of access management to repository installations.

This list was used by those involved in the Kultur project, however from 1st October 2009 the Kultur partners have been expanding into a Kultur II Group consisting of specialist creative arts institutions, departments within larger multidisciplinary institutions, and researchers in the UK. The group welcomes repository managers, technical staff, academics, researchers, and research office staff.
