The EThOS Electronic Theses Online Service Project seeks to develop a one stop shop providing access to UK theses. The service is being developed by a consortium consisting of the British Library, Imperial College London, Cranfield University, Robert Gordon University, University of Glasgow, University of Hull and University of Birmingham. The consortium is supported by several other universities. Initial funding has been provided by the JISC and RLUK. The EThOS service has been live since 20th January 2009 in a beta version, providing access to information about some 250,000 theses together with an ordering facility. In addition to the live service, there is a toolkit of information and advice to universities considering participating in the service.
