BES-AGRI-ECOL-GROUP The Group aims are: 1) To provide a forum for ecologists working in agricultural systems, conservationists with an interest in agricultural systems, crop, grassland and forest scientists working on increasing economic production, weed scientists, and agricultural policy makers. 2) To integrate very different approaches (ecology, economic production, conservation) to agricultural systems to address common issues. 3) To enhance communication among scientists and others working on agricultural systems using meetings, workshops, BES Bulletin reports and an email forum.
BES-ECOL-AQUATIC This list is an open discussion for aquatic ecologists, be they freshwater, marine or brackish. It is run under the auspices of the Aquatic Ecology specialist group of the British Ecological Society.
BES-INVASIVE This is an open discussion list facilitating communication about invasive species. It is managed by the British Ecological Society Invasive Species Group. Anyone may join.
BES-MIRE This list is an open discussion among researchers of mire and peatland systems. It is run on behalf of the Mires Research Group of the British Ecological Society. Anyone may join.
CCFMARINE We are a group of marine specialists from multiple departments at Cambridge, Oxford, APU and environmental institutions such as UNEP, WCMC, English Nature, The Nature Conservancy, etc. We meet once monthly for talks and networking events.
DEMI demi looks at the introduction of sustainable development concepts within UK HE (design) curricula. This list will augment the development of demi and raise the profile of ecodesign and sustainability across a range of design disciplines.
ECOLOGICAL-GENETICS The Ecological Genetics Group meets annually every Easter to discuss their research into all aspects of genetical ecology and evolution. This list will enable researchers in the field to maintain contact throughout the rest of the year to discuss their ideas, problems and results.
ECOPLAN Ecoplan is an ESRC-supported seminar series which aims to promote an approach to land use planning based on landscape ecology. The main purpose of the web-based discussion group is to propose an agenda for future research and practice.
