With a growing, renewed, interest in community currencies generally, and banking specifically, this group seeks to form a network of researchers exploring uses of time banks. Over ten years of development of time banking in the UK has led to new avenues for exploration which diverge from traditional community currency research. The focus on co-production and its similarity with the idea of a Big Society has led to time banks featuring in Labour and Coalition government strategy documents. The difficulty however is that most of the evidence base remains anecdotal, this group hopes to help address this issue in the following ways. Firstly it seeks to help enhance access to academic research already available in one centralised bibliography. Secondly it seeks to bring together a wide range of academics to provide space for sharing good quality research and facilitating future collaborative research.
